The Man Posted on 2014-02-03 by Megan Huard

Ludwig van Beethoven, known to me as The Man, once said, "Don't only practice your art, but force your way into its secrets; art deserves that, for it and knowledge can raise man to the Divine".

When I read this I immediately thought about the day I applied to Recording Connection. It was kind of a hard step. I'm used to playing the game by my own rules. I'm a free spirit musician. And by that I mean I don't force myself to sight read my piano or even read notes anymore... I just feel it and write what needs to get out of me. Expression. Extension. An expression and extension of the soul. That's what music is. So as musicians, we have the obligation to push ourselves just a little bit more. So here I am, setting goals. We owe it to ourselves to accomplish everything we've dreamed of and more. We OWE it to Beethoven!
