Today my mentor had to lay some drum tracks and wasted no time getting me behind the recording console (Alan and Heath Spector series). We recorded him laying drum tracks to some music he was hired to do. Bruce is not only a recording engineer, but a session drummer also. Which is great because was able to share some drum recording knowledge. I had a blast to say the least. It was nice to be recording and asking questions as we went. We covered compressors in depth, different types of compressors, limiters, and the uses for them. How they work on each different type of instrument in relation to the final mix. I was able to also have some question answered as well about questions I had not pertaining to the lessons. I cant wait for the next lesson!
