My First Day in the Studio Posted on 2014-01-29 by Steven Wellington

I walked in to Boho Digitalia today and my mentor, Bruce was working with a magician.  Just kidding. He actually wasn't working with a magician, but I typed that on accident for some reason and I thought it was funny so I kept it.

Bruce was working with a MUSICIAN named Brad Hart on an album of his called Sego Lily. I'm pretty picky with everything. My friend's will ask me what I think of something and my most common response is it's okay, followed by why I think it's just okay. But I was impressed with Brad's album. This is something I would enjoy listening to in my own time. I'm not sure how I would describe it. It's not for a typical genre. It was had a psychedelic feel, an outdoor element and imaginative lyrics. If he releases any of this on a website or a sample, I'll post it.

Bruce was in the mastering stage, adding the finishing touches. It was mostly a lot of EQing and compressing. It was good for me to watch. And it was nice to talk to Brad about his music since I'm a musician myself. Even though the music we make is completely different, we can still connect and talk about our music philosophies.

Bruce and I talked a little bit about my lesson while he was working, but we didn't get much time with his work so I'm going back in a few days which is fine with me.
