    There's not a lot of bands out there that grab me by the booboo like Mastadon does. In my opinion, they have shaken the very foundation of metal by infusing a classic rock tone to their sound.  I like to call it classic metal allthough I'm pretty sure the term has been used before. Take their album Crack the Skye for instance.This album was like nothing I had ever heard before. Metal riffs mixed with that 70's guitar sound!? Addictive! Right off the bat, Oblivion sucks you in and you're hooked until The Last Baron spits you back out again. For all those who have not heard of Mastadon or the album I am speaking of, GET IT!!!! I cannot stress enough how grovvy this album is.
