First Day In-Studio Posted on 2017-04-12 by Apryl Allen

Today was my first day as a student and intern at Track Star Studio. I committed to the program almost six months ago, so today has been a long time coming. The chain of events leading to today has been rather exciting and involved many major changes in my life. Less than a week ago, I moved almost 800 miles to be in the area of Track Star. I moved from a country setting, studio cabin on 40 acres, to a major city with over 100,000 in the population. Life is an awesome adventure if you have the right attitude and perspective.

Once I arrived at the studio, I was greeted by my mentor, Josquin. After some brief paperwork and general guidelines, Jesse and I began reviewing my first lesson. I have always been a good student, but it has been 13 years since I've been enrolled in school, so I must say that the one-on-one environment of the program is a blessing as well as a comfortable situation for me. The interactive learning and instant feedback on my thoughts and perspectives are gratifying as well as informative. Jesse was able to take the science of BAE Lesson 1 and establish the connection of the science with its practical applications in a studio as well as a live setting.

Overall, I would say that my first experience at Track Star was encouraging, stimulating, exciting, and an absolute pleasure. Josquin and Jesse's positivity is encouraging and has only fueled my desire to press forward with my learning and pursuit of my goal of being a successful live sound engineer who is proficient in the studio as well.
