Today we went over Equalizers, their history, practical use and different types. Equalizers were originally used for things like phone signals to make it so that you only hear the fundamental tones of a human voice. This made it easier to understand each other even through a noisy signal. Eventually it made its way into the music world. There are EQ's that simply act as filters like lowpass, Bandpass, and Highpass filters, as well as parabolic EQ's with many movable notches in order to get a completely customizable EQ. Finally there are fixed EQ's that have their boost and cuts set to only certain several frequencies and cannot be changed.
