Studio Day One Posted on 2016-09-13 by Shay Wachs

What an incredibly long and exciting day at Different Fur (DF)!  I got to do and mentally follow more than I anticipated on a first day.  Concepts covered in the first module helped the pieces fit together for me as I observed and assisted in small ways on set up and take down.  One of the more noteworthy activities related to the attached picture was to help set up echo chambers across two floors in the building for a live band recording.  Understanding sound fundamentals and the concepts around sound travel enabled me to easily connect why our MacGuyver'ed set ups of these speaker and mic'ed chambers gave an incredibly resonating and dynamic quality to the tracks being recorded that was fuller than what would've been natively recorded in the booth alone.

Thank you for the opportunity and bottom less coffee!!
