So on Monday I went in for my lesson and we briefly went over what we’d talked about last week; the majority of Monday though was spent with me on the computer using Pro Tools. Phil would ask me to do something (i.e. set up tracks etc.) and I would try to do it without any help. After a good review I learned how to set up buses, sends, and different in/outputs.

I went in again on Wednesday and was able to watch some other Recording Connection students, who are farther along, work on a song that had been recorded the previous week. I watched as they aligned different tracks and smoothed out notes, and a bunch of stuff that I don’t fully understand yet. After that I watched as they set up for a session for a singer who was coming in, then watched the majority of that recording session. Josquin and the artist would talk about the song and different ideas for the chorus & verses and she’d sing them multiple times in multiple ways. It was really great to watch and see it all start to come together.
