For my lesson on Monday I got to do set up & record Phil playing an acoustic guitar. I set up the mic, set levels on the pre amp and learned how to loop record. When I came in again on Wednesday I got to sit in while they recorded some key board stems for an ongoing project with a musician named Scott. It was a really fun session to sit in on. Scott was really good and he's been in the business a lot of years so he had a lot of great stories. Thursday we had a musician, Danny, come in to do the drum parts for the same project. I watched as they miked up the drum set and started recording. It was cool getting to watch Danny play and then get to talk to him afterwards, he was a great guy really interested in why we (Recording Connection students) were interested and what we wanted to do after the program.
