With this week's lesson centered around equalization, I got to practice more on adding EQs like compression. When dealing with instruments and combining their sound, it is very important to find a balance. When one sound is hurting or cancelling another sound, learning how to tune each element separately can make the difference of creating better audio. In studio, my mentor and I took a look at different compression machines and talked about what some of them could do. It's quite impressive how much editing can be done to sound, by adding or subtracting things you want. On the flip side, EQs aren't always necessarily needed and knowing when to apply them is key.
