Another fun filled week in the studio, this time talking about time based effects. There are a hand full of ways to use certain plugins but I've found out, one of the best ways to use such tools is through a send. Sending a track to and aux channel and then inserting a plugin helps with using different ratios. Sometimes you may not want an entire signal to be changed, The need for tweaking sound just a bit, may be the more useful effect. And with a send, the ability to control wet to dry ratio is possible. While not only talking about time based effects, we experimented with some inside of Pro Tools along with on the console. With me physically patching each piece of gear into our mix, it helped me see how sessions can be ran in studio.
