Chapter one was very interesting. Although it was a very basic chapter it helped me understand the different waveform characteristics and the way we perceive sound. Throughout my day I would be more cautious to the type of sounds around me and visualized how the sounds traveled. I tried to apply what I learned in this chapter to my daily life. Meeting with my mentor the first day really helped me to grasp it all more. It gave me a better sense on how it all applies to the recording world. We discussed the importance of a real recording studio. For instance, the acoustics of a room, how tuning instruments is very key, and how to protect ones hearing. We also touched upon stereo imaging and how it works. This is a very great start for me and I cant wait to share and learn more.
