Last week microphone types, polar patterns, and uses were the focus. This week applying those polar patterns and mic types to configure the unique sound you want is the focus. In a general sense, you got distant, close, accent, and ambient miking. Mono miking is cool and all but we want that stereo image which is where configurations come into play. There are specific spaced paris that can be used to produce good stereo imaging however ledgends are made through creativity and there are endless possibilites. A few pairs we went over were the x-y,Blumlen Pair, ORTF, Mid-Side, and Decca Tree, Each insturument is different and miked a bit differneltly, witch attention to the 3:1 rule. More too it than people would think.
