Ripley JeneSan Francisco Recording Connection

fresh new start Posted on 2014-11-19 by Ripley Jene

This year I decided to go back to school to get better at audio engineering and producing music tracks. After looking at SAE and Expressions, the two most known schools in my area, I felt a bit hesitant about investing my time & money in either of their programs. Just before I gave up is when I found the Recording Connection while searching for audio engineering schools online. I liked what they had to say about their program and the testimonial videos were inspiring. I signed up for more information and was soon contacted by their representatives on the phone the next day.

Within just a couple weeks, I met my assigned mentor, got all my paperwork completed and it’s now official. I just scheduled my first lesson with Zach Phillips of Freq Lab Recording Studios in San Francisco this week. I'm super excited to begin this new journey with the Recording Connection as an apprentice and take myself to the next level as a musician & producer. While I have experience with Garageband and Logic Pro, I'll begin learning Pro Tools with Zach. Pro Tools is the music industry standard DAW. DAW is an acronym for Digital Audio Workstation, which is a platform that allows us to record and edit audio within a computer workspace. I haven't used Pro Tools since i think version 4 or 5 was released. It’s been a long time, but I’m looking forward to learning all the new features it has to offer. More to come.
