Lesson #2-3

Today was a pretty long day full of knowledge. I  had some other students in with me as well and they were in their last final stages of completeing their course.  It was hard to keep up with the vocabulary, while trying to follow along with what they were doing. They were putting their final touches (mixing) on a song that they recorded with a band who did a cover of Berlin. They talked about how they had been working on the song for quite some months now and that they were excited to finally complete it.

While they worked on their song for a bit, Jason and I started working on going over my tests. For the ones i got wrong he went over them and clarified why the ones i got wrong were wrong and why the right answer was right.

After the students had completed their mixing, they bounced all the tracks so that they could start the mastering proccess in the back room. I never realixed how much set up is required just to listen to a song, so that you can master it.

Overall, I can tell the next few months are going to be very challenging when it comes to learning the vocabulary and begin understanding why things do things the way that they do. I am very excited to see what is to come next.

Through work I applied to be in the install bay to work on cars and put sytstems in them. I'm hoping I get this job because i feel like it will help me 1) practice what i have been learning but 2) teach me more about sound and how everyhting works.
