Hey ya'll. Sincere here. I've been learning a lot of valuable things these past couple chapters that I've been applying to my mixes & I've heard a huge difference in the quality that I'm putting out. It's funny because I remember a couple months back before I started getting into the mixing process I told my mentor Doug that I didn't really like the reverb effect on vocals. He laughed & told me that every vocal I've ever heard has reverb on it. I now realize the importance of reverb to a vocal track & I've learned to love it. In this one record that my hip-hop duo (The Hashassins) has been working on, I used some heavy reverb to give it a spacey effect like you were almost in a dream. The song itself is very conceptual & has a mysterious vibe to it so I thought it fit perfectly.
Oh man, I've also been loving messing around with some delays as well, it can add so much to your mix & it's a great space filler. We actually just released a new record called 'Put It On' & it's the first piece of music that I've released to the public with delays on it! So that's pretty cool. I love seeing the progression.
