Keeping up to date with my schooling and studio time has been a handful but very exciting from the last time I have blogged! Getting to know my engineers a little more better has help greatly. Digging deeper into my learning, ross (Engineer) I have been applying my reading/studys to Pro Tools. Leaning what busses are and how we can apply them to channel things all around without having to apply a plug-in to each single track is nice, less work and being more efficient is definitly something handy. At home I have a few tracks I have been learning how to ''correctly'' EQ and using more and more plug-ins, reverb, delays etc. Something I have found very interesting about Waveform and two catagories they can be put in, Simple and Complex waveforms, to simplify, Simple Waveforms, Sine, Square, Triangle and Saw, these have a simple repeated form. I have not really ever of Triangle or saw wave forms which was very cool to discorver. The very basci one I have seen while learning about sound is the Sine wave, very common. I did find it interesting to dive into something new. Secondly when my engineer and I were applying some lessons onto some tracks hese mixing for an artist I found it interesting that learning about atmospheric pressure and how there are molicules all around up being pushed around the very second he hit play and the waves start to compress. Just think if we could see all this happening right before our eye which I found would be cool to see one on one how compression works. At the studio I attend we have been working on a few labs were some interns gather one or two days a week to get more hands on the equipment and teach each other about what this or that does but we did mic up some instruments while a few of us sat at the board and messed with balancing the sounds and making sure we had the signals correct. I found this interesting becasue I havent ever mic'd up anything yet. Still attending ''live sessions'' and seeing the most important thing about interaction between the engineer and the artist is key. If the artist and the engineer dont connect it definitly will make the process a lot more difficult. I will gladly blog more and more about my new goal with this awesome new career goal!
