The first of the 2 days was another mixing session but we also had 2 practice bands come in. The studio I'm in has 3 practice rooms bands can rent out. I set up the practice rooms and help the bands with whatever they need. The next day, a blues/country singer from New York came in to record vocals for a new song. She was one of the best singers I've heard in person. I set up the vocal booth along with helping her with whatever she needed. Here's something I've never thought of that the engineer does, but makes so much sense. Instead of the singer just "singing" the songs, he has them put all of their emotions into the singing, emotions they felt while they were writing the song or just to give extra feelings or grit to the song, depending on the song's lyrics.
