On the 22nd of October I went in for my first official day of mentoring at The Lava Room recording studio, I was far from disappointed. My mentor is Music Producer Chris Ebbert, someone I already hold a high level of respect for just from the knowledge and passion I can see that he has for the buisness. We started off by going over chapter 1 which I just previously completed, using diagrams, videos and samples using the C|24 soundboard in the studio. chris broke down every concept in the chapter, assuring that I understood everything he went over before continueing. After finishing the review of the chapter, I went and was allowed to sit in on one of chris's editing sessions. We went over sounds and synths for a couple hours while working on a young womens new single for her album until the closing time of the studio. For it being my first session after it was over I honestly just couldn't wait until the next one. So far it seems to be like a very intersting way of learning, on the scene of a real studio learning from one of the best in the area. I'm just can't wait to see whats in store for the next couple months, really starting to feel like i'm building my dream.
