From as far back as I can remember, music had always played a major role in my life. It always moved me, and kept me wanting more. Thats where the intrest in learning how to play the songs I grew up listening to, comes in. My older brother started drum lessons, and not too long after, I decided to try and learn electric guitar, hoping to start playing our favorite songs together.

At the age of 12, my dad borrowed a bass guitar and amp from his friend, for me to play around with. The day he brought the bass guitar home, I started messing with the sounds the amp could create. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to play my favorite songs. Around the same time, my mom had got her old acoustic guitar back from a family member who had borrowed it for years. I contiunally kept practicing, and trying to impress friends and family. Of course, my dedication led to getting an electric guitar for christmas, and learning all of the old hard rock songs everyone grew up listening too. Over the next few years I began playing music with friends, at church and getting lessons here and there. I ended up starting bands, joining bands and playing around town as much as I could. Since then, I have not looked back, and still continue to challenge myself and play bass/guitar in a couple bands.

I started becoming intrested in recording my own music during my teen years. I loved being able to record a rhythm guitar track and solo over top of it. This was on-going over the past few years until I decided that I wanted to learn the real way to do it, and see it done professionally.

Thats when I came across Recording Connection Audio Institute. I applied for the bachelors program and had an interview with Len Milne at Bedside Studios in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Once I walked into Bedside studio, I realized how little I actually knew about recording and production. Len was great to talk with, he explained a lot about the industry and what he does. I was really impressed with his work, the studio he built, and everything that comes with it. I am really excited with the program and working with Len, it has been a real eye opener and I am learning far more then I had ever expected.
