Major: Music Production

Music has been my life since the age of three when my much older siblings who were 17 and 19 years older than me, introduced me to artists like Biggie Smalls and Puff Daddy. It was around that time my older sister, who was an Eminem fanatic brought his music into my life. I still listen to his music religiously today. My fascination with music at such a young age led me to appreciate music as an art. My family moved from Brooklyn, NY to Manalapan, NJ when I was 5 years old. After joining the band in Elementary School I quickly became the Lead Drummer in the Jazz Band. I impressed my teacher right away when I picked up the drums so easily and chose the most complex songs. By High School I had notebooks upon notebooks full of songs that I wrote. I constantly watched Hip Hop and R&B videos and read articles to learn about music production. After High School, things went downhill after I began to struggle with depression and an addiction to opiates. I used writing music as an outlet for everything I was going through. Some of my best songs came from my struggle. After being clean for two years, I lost one of my closest friends to a heroine overdose on June 30th, 2016. His death made me realize that you have to chase your dreams while you still can because tomorrow is never promised. I always knew that music was my passion and it was time to chase my dream. I chose Recording Connection because they offered everything I wanted to learn. I look forward to seeing what my future  holds after completing this program.
