chapter 6 is talk about microphone placement. basically micing or setting up the mics for instruments and for vocals. The Dynamic mic operate electromagnetically. they are most popular in use of live sound and have a place in the recording studio as well. they have a strong ability to handle the loudest sound sources like a lot of acoutic energy and dont have to rely on spectral that much which is a preamp. for example the dynamic mic is good for vocals; kick drums; snares; guitar amps and bass amps. but avoid weak instrument that lack sensitivity, they may cause noise problems. Condenser mics operate electrostatically using two plates, one stationary(the back) and another that reacts to changes in sound pressure. a constant voltage is necessary to polarize the phantom power.condenser mics captures sonic picture than dynamics. they usually a great choice for acustic instruments vocals, and drum overheads. ribbon mics so operates electro
