RRC Education Week 11 (8/6 - 8/12) Posted on 2018-08-12 by Jacob Windsor

This midterm week came and went as smoothly as I had hoped. I began the week with studio time on Monday, but when I got there apparently I wasn't actually on the schedule so instead of going all the way back home I was offered to sit in with an audio engineer named Gabe to watch and learn his music making process. We worked on a Lo-Fi type beat and didn't stop till it was finished and up to his standards, it sounded great! I had studio time planned with Rob Sanchez on Wednesday so at home throughout the week I was studying my notes/all the chapter quizes in preperation for the midterm. When I went in on Wednesday I got there about 10 minutes early and asked if I could take the midterm before we got started, I got a B! Not bad but if I were to have read the questions more thoroughy I'm sure I could have done better, I know that now and will do so when the final exam comes around. After I finished, Rob and I worked on a song in Pro-Tools for Stephen Sharer. Stephen is a youtuber, creator of the channel "Sharer Brothers" and he came in earlier in the week to record vocals for his song that Rob and I were mixing and mastering. It turned out very good and I learned a ton of new plug-ins and new compression techniques for vocals. On Friday I took a huge step in my carreer field and finally started up all of my social media pages that I will begin to be posting on regularly. The social medias inculde youtube, beatstars, and a soundcloud! I go by Phenomenon on all three. I will be adding my soundcloud to my RRC page here shortly. I'm now mid-way through the RRC program and theres no looking back, only progression!

This has been my Semi-Final week of my RRC Program besides the final exam week! The chapter this week was on mastering but I don't think I got much out of this chapter, mostly because the past four weeks combined was also all apart of the mastering process and this week was more about the final touches that I already had great knowledge about...
