This week was Equalization, also known as the fun part of making music! As fun as it is there is a huge skill behind it and I think I've grasped it pretty nicely, although the D I got on my weekly quiz would beg to differ. Besides the technical side to equalization I learned more on how to fit different instruments smoothely into the track through EQ-ing, which has stepped up my production to another level. I went into the studio this week on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. To start off on monday Lucas and I just went through different EQs he uses and he even broke it down for me in simple easy to learn ways. On Wednesday I began working on my project assignment with Lucas by my side throwing feedback here and there on how to improve it and what specifically to listen for. I started with levels and panning, made it a nice wide pan with the kick in the middle, then we went onto EQ-ing which really opened up spaces for individual instruments to shine. When I went into the studio on Thursday it was with Rob Sanchez and he gave me the opportunity to work with him and these two artists on three of their new songs. It sounded amazing and was a great experience for me, watching Rob EQ and Compress was the highlight of everything because he has so much talent that I have no choice but to ask a bunch of questions and to soak it all in. I'm very happy with how far I've come with my carreer so far but also Im not happy with where I am because I know where I wanna be. I won't ever stop though, so it's dedication, patience, and hard work everyday until I make it.
