The Power of Music Posted on 2015-02-12 by Debbie-Ann Lindo-Peterson

I am hungry.  Hungry to get going.  I've been stagnant for far too long.  The world is advancing without me.  I have some great things to contribute to the world, and I'm being selfish and keeping them to myself.  I know I could be an inspiration to someone.

What motivates you?  What keeps you going?  What makes you ready to seize the day each time you awake?  For me it's music.  It's how I start my day.  Well, I actually start my day by listening to music, and spending an hour on social media lol.  I'm a natural born empath, and it is seriously impossible for me not to live by my emotions.  Music is so awesome, I can not even begin to explain its impact on me.  Sometimes I hear a song that resonates with my inner being, and I want to somehow drown in the song.  I want to be in the song, the melody.

There is no doubt that music can put you into a trance like state.  It's such a delicious combination of air compression, and frequencies with your surrounding environment.  As I'm typing this post I'm listening to Lorde.  Her album is pretty awesome.  Her voice combined with the music is such perfection.  The album itself has a grim, it's a rainy day outside, but everything will be alright, feel to to it.  Very easy listening.

Garnett Silk is one of my favorite reggae artist.  He has a song titled The Rod.  The lyrics couldn't be anymore true:

...Music is the rod and we are Moses. Leading God's children to the Promised Land.  Music is the voice of his

brother Aaron...We have the power to turn things around...

We have the ability to connect through music in other words.  Music is one of the few things that can bring different cultures together.  That is pretty amazing if you ask me.  I'm smiling right now because I just remembered that I'm always singing.  Whenever I hear just one word, I'll start singing, because there is literally a song for everything.

I think everyone would have a great day if they listened to Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars first thing in the morning!
