EQ is the process of adjusting the balance between frequency componets within an electrical signal. There are 3 types of EQ, 1. Graphic EQ Fixed frequency uses vertical sliders to represent the frequencies that can be manipulated, boost and cut are the only variables. 2. Program EQ offers a little more flexibility and control than the fixed frequency EQ by adding the ability to sweep the frequency spectrum. 3. Parametric EQ essentially lets you adjust most or all of its different parameters. From the center frequency to the boost and cut level, to the width of the Q, the parametric EQ gives the engineer numours sound shapping options.
