Cancer Bats Synth and Sound Design! Posted on 2018-02-05 by Jad Bantug

I had the awesome opportunity to assist JP in recording and engineering the Cancer Bats the last two weeks at Private Ear. And during one of the comping sessions, JP suggested to that I do some soundscaping and textures on one of their tracks, since he knew that had a lot of experience with music production already. So JP exported an OMF version of the project file to me (this is so the tempo and tempo changes are still there when I do my programming in SONAR). Personally, I love Pro Tools for the audio stuff and some simple MIDI work, but I still find SONAR Platinum flexible and very efficient when it comes to arranging and programming MIDI and VST Instruments.

That band loved what I had made and I was tasked to do sound design and soundscaping for 4  songs on the album! I'll find time to explain in more detail some of the stuff I did for the tracks one of this days.
