Today was my fist day at Primetime. Primetime is a professional grade studio out of Akron ohio.Today was a good introduction to the program. We quickly went on an overview of the studio, checking out all the sound rooms and the storage placement of the equipment.Tom which is the ''producer'' explained to me the need for organization in the studio. Theres alot of wires and instruments that can get misplaced if not put away properly and this could effect how smoothly things run when a client is present. We talked about the career opportunities in the recording field and the many positions that go into running a professional studio. After a nice introduction we went over the homework from lesson 1 this was an introduction to sound and hearing we did phase examples on the mixer. He showed me to take my time when connecting wires to ensure they are connected properly, if they are not, this could through the music out of phase Thus the sound projected will be incomplete. We talked about dbSPL also and the optimum recording level. the different wave forms and the four parameters needed to construct a musical waveform. The introduction was very informative and helpful I'm looking forward to no my next lesson.
