I had met my mentor, Dick Orr, once before, but I didn't know completely what to expect on my first day. The session was suprisingly very relaxed. He discussed how the course worked and what my weekly duties with him, which would be a little different each week. This first week all he asked me to do was to listen to sounds and see if I could understand why certain sounds existed. We didn't get into any of the text much but instead we got to know eachother a little better musically, which a thoroughly enjoyed. The session lasted only a little longer than two hours but was very benificial in laying a basis for what we were going to be doing. I'm looking forward to going in again.
