This weeks lesson was quite intense, as we dwelved even deeper into studio design and how it was set up. However, a huge portion of the lesson was also spent on a question I had about ohms. Thanks to a lengthy discussion with Mr. Orr I now have a good grasp as to what they are, and I somewhat understand the technology surrounding them. This includes AC and DC currents, tube amps and pre amps and transformers. So much of the stuff I'm learning Mr. Orr ties into life and not just sound engineering. I was shown how a electromagnent works in a pick up, and how similarly is works in the Hoover Dam. This is the kind of stuff I never found interesting until now. Our session lasted about two hours and ended when a client arrived.
