I've completed the chapter on MIDI now, as well as the quiz. This info was useful and will continue to be, as there's a massive amount of MIDI generated sounds being used at the studio. 

At the studio, we had the pedal steel player from the previous session come back to lay on another song we're working on (the arrangement that Randy had previously laid bass and keys for); since it was just him, we set him up in the control room with us and let him hear through the monitors. Quite a lot of fun!
