Sunday August 25th:

    I ended up buying a desk today. I took the doors off my closet and put the desk inside. I hooked my new KRK Rokit 5 monitors up to my Presonus Firesftudio Project to use as a monitoring system. Once that was all set up, I decided to upgrade my Macbook Pro from 4GB RAM to 8GB RAM, so that when I get ProTools, it will be able to run properly.

Monday August 26th:

    I went into the Bowtown studio today for a lesson with Tara. I showed her some pictures of my work desk I had put together, and she gave me some tips to improve it. She quizzed me on microphone identification which went well, I think I only got one wrong. Watching some How It's Made episodes on microphones definitely helped with that. After that she started to show me how to work the console, a Soundcraft 1624. We ran a Shure SM58 through the console to test it out. We took off a few panels from the board to take a look inside. I showed her some tracks I've been working on at home, and she gave me some guidelines about panning each instrument, EQing, and general mixing. (2 hours)
