Chapter 16 Blog - MIDI Posted on 2016-02-09 by Wesley Hagy

I have been working with MIDI on another DAW, Ableton, for almost three years now. So trying to learn the little nuances of MIDI in Pro Tools has been like trying to learn to ride a bike again lol. I will probably stick to using Ableton for the majority of my MIDI and Production needs, but it is really nice to know how to use Pro Tools for MIDI so that I can be efficient when that is the only program available.

This lesson was quite a treat for me, my mentor took me to a collaboration style studio. They had everything you could need to create a track, MPC pad, live instruments, MIDI keyboards, synthesizers. I felt like I was in an "audio" candy store. We spent the whole night working on a few different tracks and ended up coming up with something I really enjoyed.

It is experiences like these that keep me motivated in this feel and wanting more from myself and those around me.
