Been a while since I last blogged. Just been so dedicated to honing in on my Audio Engineering skills lol. From the lesson Mix Theory to Automation gave me life to preparing and executing a mix. Everything from those lessons are essentially important when it comes to mixing. Tho it's no right or wrong way to approach a mix, proper leveling, and routing can make or break a mix. Time Based Effects and Dynamic Signal Processing I feel were the most imprtant to me. Learning how to add Reverb and Delay, and the importance of them both really helped. Learning the tricks and schemes of Compression was really cool. The fact that Joe helped me understand that "we don't want to hear it {Compression}, we just want to know that it's working", really made it simple to grasp. I must admit that I took time with the mix assignment. I had to get the execution down before was ready to turn it in. With the help of Joe, practice, and a prayer {or two lol}, I feel very confident in mixing music now to whereas before I was hesitant. I must say that this program really works if you have the patience and most importantly ask for help if you need it.
