Lesson 01 on June 27th, 2014

I have to admit that I was nervous leading up to my session with Dan today.  The fear of the unknown can make a girl a little twitchy.  Once I arrived at the studio my nerves disappeared and were replaced with excitement.  Dan greeted me, asked how I was and we then quickly got started with the lesson over chapter one.

I already had a firm grasp on the lesson based on what I read in chapter one before arriving for the session today, so Dan helped tie what I read into how it would be used in the field of audio engineering.  He showed me a complex waveform in Pro Tools and played me a track that showed me stereo imaging and how different simple waveforms create different types of sounds.

Once we were done reviewing the lesson Dan played two tracks he and others had been working on in his studio.  Recently, a renowned cellist had been in and recorded parts for a track.  The track was remarkable and it was amazing to understand and hear all of the different instruments that went into creating the track.

Listening to those tracks wrapped up my time in Amerisound Studios for today and I am looking forward to my next lesson.
