I have just completed chapter one of the recording connection curriculium. I was excited to learn how sound is created and how it affects our hearing. I also enjoyed learning the vocabulary of sound and their direct relation to one another. For example, frequency is the number of occurances of a repeating event over time and is directly related to pitch. I have experience with audio engineering but prior to this lesson plan was unfamiliar with the exact meaning of certain terms. I was also unaware of how sound is dependent on tempurature. There were many great lessons learned in this first chapter that will help me become a better engineer. I had no idea how important it was to know and understand how sound works and how our ears percieve sound was so vital to my future career. Its great to know that I still have much to learn and have enjoyed learning so much in just the first chapter. It was, at first, unsettling to realize how much information I did not know. I later realized that I had made the right desicion to educate myself in order to pursue my passion. I am looking forward to completing the rest of the curriculium and getting studio experince once Chapter 2 is completed.
