Chapter 3 has given me much insight into digital audio. I was pleased to read that there are several types of audio files other than .wav and mp3. It was also exciting to get into the studio and apply what I had learned as well as learning things I had not yet read. We set up 3 different types of mics around the main live room and recorded a snare drum into pro tools. We then worked with compressing the snare drum and learned the different rates of compression and what it actually does. I had minor knowledge of compression but was excited to learn what it actually does and to hear the difference with and with out the snare being compressed. We had also learned how equalizing works and heard the difference in sound with that as well. Can't wait to get back in the studio and learn more.
