My mentor has told us from the beginning that he would throw us into the water (pro tools) to see if you will swim or drown. Well my second week I felt like I was drowning once we learned signal flow. I could not remember it all without having to look back on the page or get stuck halfway down the line. Signal flow is the path in which audio travels from its source to its final output through the speakers. Learning the signal flow step for step is key for being the studio, not only for the general fact that its the path in which your audio will travel, but if you ever have a problem getting your audio to come down the line you can go step for step to troubleshoot your problem. My mentor had also went through and broke down the difference between analog currents and digital currents.
