Class Reflection: June 6th Posted on 2017-06-06 by Paige Carmichael

Today Josh and I reviewed the basics of Ableton to refresh my mind, including the Clip View Launch Box and it's features. We also went over what Quantization means and how to apply it to my music. Afterwards, we worked on making a trap beat with guidance only when absolutely neccessary to get me into the routine of making a song every hour. We reviewed using the the Appegiator and Chord MIDI Effects. We made all the loops in Session View, and once they were of liking, we transfered the tracks over to the Arrangement View and made a simple track. We then went over how to export and save tracks out of Live.

I stayed in studio for a few hours afterward to practice "Song an Hour." I tried to create a track influenced by Valentino Khan but ended up scraping that project after an hour and created a light hip-hop track that included a vibraphone, violin, drums, bongos, and a bass. It took me about 15 minutes over an hour but I managed to transfer it to the Arrangement and make a basic track out of my loops.
