Edgar VazquezDenver Recording Connection

Blog Entry #1 Posted on 2014-10-26 by Edgar Vazquez

Im very happy to be in the RRF program! I met my mentor Tyler Soifer and Side 3 Studio Engineers Anthony, Andy, and Ty this week and was shown around the studios. Both studios A and B were very cool to be in and were very professionally set up. This first lesson was about sound and hearing and its nice to actually have more knowledge in that basis since a lot of Audio Engineering has to do with using your ears. Getting more hands on experience in the studio will be a great advantage for the experience of differentiating sounds in mixes and masterings! I got to spend a few days with Andy while he recorded a guy named Emilio. The gear he set up was a condenser mic and an acoustic guitar. Meeting Emilio and his band was a great experience. Although the band was not quite prepared in studio aspects, the session still went well and i got watch how record vocals! I cant wait to learn how to record everything else. Thats about it for this weeks blog entry but it wont be long before #2!
