Wow, I think this was the most notes I took for a chapter. Hands hurting, but I LOVE the pain or at least what the pain brings after. And plus I am typing now, so everything is better already. I feel as if this chapter about dynamic processing taught me so much about compressors that I did not know. When I first starting hearing about compression it was from my mentor. He was talking about a beat I put infront of him on pro tools. He said "That sure is compressed". The audio file was like a straight line of no dynamics. At that point of time in my life I figured it was a bad thing to have no dynamics. Coming from playing in my schools' band dyanmics was everything. The soft part needs to be so much differnt than the loudest parts but still played with intensity. But after going over everything in this chapter I see how dynamic processing is so important when mixing and editing in this realm. It is so amazing how Bill Putnam was able to be such a huge help to the industry we all love today. One big thing I would like to take from this chapter is how compression really works. It is multiplicative.
