Chapter 5 - Microphones Posted on 2017-10-17 by Alonzo Trujillo

Microphones, there are so many microphones that are used and made fore diffenet types of things like wow! To many to remeber but this chapter helped me out knowing all these differnt types of mics. In this chapter i leared anout how microphones work and some history about them. I learned about different types of mics like, dynamic mics, carbon mics, condenser mics and just so many other mics. I also learned about which mics to use on things like instruments and volcals but also like on stage or radio stations and many other things. I learned also about electromagnetic (moving coil), electromagnetic (ribbon), wrap-ups, mic specifications, frequency response, polar (pickup) pattern also other different polar patterns, different cardioids, signal - to - noise ratio, decibels, impedance, maximum SPL, distortion, imput and distorted output waveforms, sensitivity and different microphone circuit types. Yes, sounds like a lot but you need to know a lot about mics. My mentor showed me so many mics that it was crazy I couldnt rmeber some of the names by the end of the day. Thers just so many but all you really have to know is which are condenser and which are dynamic and tthey both fall into which mics to use on what this chapter thaught me so much I never knew about microphones.

Chapter 18 - Acoustics and MonitoringPosted by Alonzo Trujillo on 2018-05-02

This was a very good chapter. I learned a lot about acoustics and monitoring and the history of the acoustics. The production of sound and how it dates back all the way to the 16th century BC and how Pythagoras known as Nestern and for his theory relating to triangles and musical intervals... Read More >>
