Chapter 6 - Microphone Placement Posted on 2017-10-17 by Alonzo Trujillo

This chapter about microphone placement kind of went back to the chapter before just this chapter was a little different. It taught me about where I would place microphones when in a session like for the vovalist and others playing instruments. I learned about diaphrams like large and small different mics, mono miking techniques, distant, close, accent and ambient mic placements, stereo miking, spaced and blumelien pairs, ORTF, mid-side, decca tree, amplifiers, and sound hole. I enjoyed learning mic placement now I have an idea of how to place mcs and I will get better. Studio time was good I got to see my mentor set up different mics also I got to help and we were getting the mics set up for a poet I met later that day. I met a great poet named Terry Nash he was very good at writing coyboy poetry it was just incredible the way he wrote. I got to stay after class to see him and my mentor work together it gave me a really good idea of how to treat your clients when they come in and making sure you have things set up ready to go for them. I enjoyed class very much that day, it was a good experiance to have.
