They are responsible for the professional careers of songwriters and/or producers in the music industry. Scheduling, Pitching, Negotiating deals etc... Producer managers take the business and administrative burden off the producer, so the producer can focus on creating. Songwriters typically do not receive fees from the Record Label songs places on their artists projects. Song Splits are very important, can be handled many ways, these days most copyrights arent written 100% by one songwriter. Co-Writing is extremley common, important to make sure the song splits is taken care of. A split sheet is an agreement that names each songwriter and producer involved in creating the song, their ownership percentages, and publisher information. This eliminates desputes down the road, and US copyright law is if no agreement exsists between these each writer automatically owns an equal share of the copyright.
