Alot of people think making beats is real easy until they have to create one. Dedication and hard work is required to be successful. I can't tell you all the late nights and 24 hours I stayed up constantly improving the quality and clarity of a instrumental. Mixing down the instruments is one of the most important things you need to know cause that's what gone give you a well sound wave. Having the right speakers and sub roof makes mixing a little easier (I recommend JBL) but for some people like myself at one point of time half to rely on there ears completely and have good judgement on the levels so when people listen to your music its soothing to the ears. Not to mention making a beat for an artist that they will like. We the producers are the ones who must make an artist music come to life. Other factors do play into the over all sound of a song which requires engineers in other categories. But honestly if you really want to be the producer you can be, do research and study different genre and see what was did to make that song a hit and compare it to yours, that's how you gone get better. It will take some years to mature in your craft but in the end it will all pay off. Don't let nobody tell you you can't do it because you can.
