I must say, engineer workshops are like one of the best things a person wanting to know something can go to. I went to one today at Studio713 where Im interning at and man the shit is awesome but only if the person who telling you and showing knows what they talking about cause then you just shit out of luck. John "The legendary John is what I call him" knows mixing, mastering, recording like the back of his hand and I learned all in one day how to get great quality vocals for an artist compared to what I was doing already. The SLL channel Plugin is the best got damn EQ you can ever use on vocals. Makes the vocal brighter without clipping and distortion. Learned how to take shortcuts and send tracks to an AUX track for delays and reverbs which by the way HD Delays is best plugin for using delays on your vocals. I know how to pan better and put gates on vocal tracks with to much space in between words to eliminate extra unwanted noises. Its so much to process right now but its in my head and its gone benefit me in the long run. I'll be in the studio next week Wednesday-Friday 3-9 pm.
