Lesson 5
Today was my second opportunity to sit in on a live session. Today my mentor was in charge of recording The Rutherford High School Choir. Before the high school arrived my mentor had me witness the basic set up of the mics for this particular recording. Max also gave me a short review of last weeks lesson on the microphone. Shortly after the school arrived the session began. Because there were so many student everywhere I honestly felt that I was in the way for most of the session but I did get to see a perfectionist of a conductor! The choir left around three and my lesson began shortly afterwards. In lesson 5 we discovered the importantce of signal flow. Signal flow is a term used to describe the path and audio signal takes from source to the recording device. Mentioned were the our ways the studio patch can be configurged and the three components of a balanced plug.
