Lesson 13

We continued signal processing with Dynamics based: Volume Control questions and anwers. Max started off by stating a virtual fader may be called a compressor. He also said that the treshold is when the compressor starts to work. IF a compresssor's ratio is set to 100:1 that compressor is now called a clippper limitor. To reduce a sound like "sss" or Sibilance a special compressor callleed a desser mat be used. At this point in then lesson Max let me "play" with a desser in a used tracA processing device that makes loud siganls louder and soft siganls softer, or the opposite of a compressor is callled an expander. We ended lesson 13 by discussing that limiting is ued so that a recording can be made at a high level without overloading the electronics due to lound sounds.
