Diego Mendozalas vegas Recording Connection

Week 1 Posted on 2017-07-09 by Diego Mendoza

During the first shadow session with Luis, he demonstrated how to proficiently maneuver through Protools. The client for the day was there to record acoustic Guitar and Vocals. The client was very familiar with the process of recording and keeping exact with the timing. The client only needed one take for each of the three acoustic guitar recordings and about four takes of each of the three songs on vocals. After the recording sessions were completed Luis began to to edit and blend where needed. I played close attention to how he would cut specific sections of a recording piece and moved it around to the same verse because of a preferred sound that verse contained. I also noticed how easily he recognized verses with off sounds to them. He has a good ear to what the client shouldn’t and wouldn’t want in their project. Close to finishing Luis gave final reviews/listens of all the songs and asked if there were any parts of concern, if there were he made sure to edit again. Ultimately they left very satisfied with the final product.
