Week 13 - MIDI & Music - Quick Sheet: Genres Posted on 2018-04-10 by Kyle Ellis

This week covered genres of EDM like house, trap, and dubstep. It was fun to listen to new artists like Pleasurekraft.

Unfortunately the hip hop artist I was working with has not been the quickest artist to turn around vocals so that we could record. I've had to put my chill trap song on the back burner until I find a more serious artist. Luckily, I've started a new project for the singer I met two weeks ago at an open mic night. So far the track features neo soul chords with a soul/chill beat and definitely has an EDM influence. I'm working with the singer to give a simple sound for her to sing over and then I'll build the track around her voice. Am definitely looking forward to meeting more people and working with them to keep developing my skills and name in the LA music scene.
